What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
Develop and prototyping of new power and control circuits, including programmable logic devices, or design modification of existing products
Programming and simulation of logic circuitry in VHDL using Xilinx
Develop software for microprocessor-based circuits, including serial communications interfaces
Generate DC schematic diagrams and lay out DC PCBs using Altium
Creation of DC power budgets to track power consumption
Documentation of product design either directly or through supervision of contractors or drawing office staff as appropriate
Perform stress analysis and reliability predictions
Qualification testing of new products, including EMI/EMC, etc
Ability to deal with customers and present design details during customer reviews
Review project schedules and meet financial and time constraints
Participate in R&D meetings to evaluate new technical opportunities and contribute to company strategic direction
What you’ll bring
The role of Hardware Engineer requires the following experience and skills:
Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
Experience as a Hardware Engineer
Experience in programming and simulation of logic circuitry in VHDL using Xilinx or Altera
Knowledge of Altium with regards to generating DC schematic diagrams
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Accuracy, thoroughness, persistence and attention to detail
