Summary You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (CLASSIFICATION) in the Human Resources Office Southwest, Classification and Compensation of COMPACFLT HRO SOUTHWEST. This position is identified as a full time remote/virtual position. Salary will be based on the location of your residence, in accordance with locality pay area definitions and established pay tables.https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/pay-leave/salaries-wages/2021/locality-pay-area-definitions/ Responsibilities You will provide advice, guidance and recommendations for difficult and complex position classification and management issues. You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing classification information, advice and more for Human Resources Director (HRD), personnel assigned to the local Human Resources Office (HRO) and the local EEO Office. You will work with auditors and/or other investigators, supervisors, managers related to difficult or hard to classify positions, high graded positions, high visibility positions or positions that do not have OPM grading criteria. You will provide analysis on the classification impact of draft or new classification standards, assisting customers to apply new standards in a timely manner. You will perform detailed research, conducting desk audits by phone and in the field. This entails interviewing supervisors of employees being audited. You will serve a s a team member on cross-functional teams (CFT) such as Position Management Boards, HR assessments, Reduction-In-Force, Base Realignment and Closure, Hazardous Pay reviews, and Full-Scale or Wage Change surveys. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing analysis of General Schedule and Federal Wage System classification practices and principals in addition to independently providing human resources advisory services to management on position classification and position management matters for successful workplace shaping.
