PAVE Academy Charter School is a public charter school in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY. PAVE provides a K-8 experience that lays the foundation for a productive and choice-filled life. We build our students brick by brick, equipping them with the academic, social, and emotional skills that they need to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, overcomers and leaders in their communities.
PAVE educates 490 Kindergarten – 8th-grade scholars each school year. Across our student population, 82 percent of our students are eligible for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program (FRLP); 17 percent receive special education services, and 10 percent are English Language Learners (ELL).
Opportunity Summary
The After School Program Director will develop, manage, and evaluate PAVE's after school program that combines and enhances academics, youth development, and social-emotional learning. The Director will work directly with school leadership to ensure alignment and impact.
How You'll Contribute
Develop and implement engaging programing in collaboration with school leadership
Manage daily operations and logistics of PAVE's after school program
Manage and oversee budget including purchases and reporting spending with support from the Operations team
Hire, orient, train, support, and supervise afterschool program staff
Establish and maintain after school and extracurricular partnerships
Facilitate Student recruitment and retention
Maintain accurate and up-to date attendance and dismissal records
Create alignment and communication between school-day and afterschool staff
Ensure staff and students are meeting cultural expectations of PAVE Academy
Communicate with families
Ensure implementation of high-quality programs that are responsive to students and families
Gather all required program data and provide reporting as necessary
Develop and implement a vision to evaluate program effectiveness
Support school wide culture procedures, initiatives and extra-curricular programming

At least two years of experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom
Experience teaching in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Education, Physical Education, Recreation or related field; Master's degree preferred
New York State Teaching Certification or Equivalent preferred
