Omni Interlocken Resort & Spais seeking aBanquet Managerto join our outstanding banquets team! This vital role will work closely with the Director of Banquets and Banquet Leaders to oversee all operations relating to the Banquets department, resulting in high levels of guest satisfaction and associate development. This highly motivated individual will nsure proper set up of meeting and Banquet facilities by communicating effectively to associates and handling guests’ requests on the floor to guest expectation and OMNI Standards. Banquet Manager Candidate must have experience in a similar banquet environment, high quality establishment. Excellent communication, leadership, organizational and customer service skills. Must be detail oriented and ability to work under stressful situations.

Salary for this position (based on experience):$65,000 - $70,000/year based on experience. Full Time Associates at Omni Interlocken Resort are entitled to elect the following benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision and other healthcare benefits, Paid Maternity Leave, 401k and Paid Time Off Accrual. Omni Interlocken Resort reserves the right to pay more or less than listed compensation scale based on factors not related to sex or race.

Responsibilities

  • Represents management at functions.

  • Determines set-ups in conjunction with Director of Banquets.

  • Coordinates functions with service staff, Chef and Steward Supervisor.Sees that guest satisfaction is achieved through effective supervision and delegation of functions.

  • Coordinates together with the Stewarding Department

  • Briefs waiters on functions and procedure of service.

  • Establishes high standards of quality service and maintains them through effective training and continuous upgrading.

  • Maintains the equipment entrusted to his care and keeps pars up.

  • Maintains records, reports, closing reports and payroll costs.

  • Inspects function rooms and writes work orders for the Engineering Department to maintain rooms in excellent condition.

  • Conscious of business fluctuations, reacts either increasing of decreasing when volume of business fluctuates up or down.

  • Maximizes profits in his department through effective management techniques keeping in mind at all times guest satisfaction.

  • Must stay updated on new food and wine trends. Sets the pace and a good example for a successful quality operation.

  • Prepare for and conduct departmental meetings.

  • Use Synergy and Epitome Reports to effectively relay guest concerns to other departments.

Qualifications

  • Ability to make quick decisions in high stress situations.

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills.

  • Pleasant and positive personality

  • Well organized and efficient.

  • Knowledge of Micros preferred.

  • Food Handlers & TIPS / Alcohol Safety certifications required prior to starting with us.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • 1-2 years Banquet management experience preferrably in a luxury hotel or resort.

  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Move, bed, lift, carry, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
