T he Team: The Parsing team is responsible for managing and developing our real-time quote parsing system, a key component of our wide-ranging Data Valuations and Analytics ecosystem. Our dynamic service parses, stores, and delivers real-time OTC pricing content from market content – the service parses 90+ million quotes, along with commentary, from 5+ million email messages daily. We provide traders, portfolio managers, asset managers, valuators, and others in the financial space with structured indicative over-the-counter pricing data for 40+ financial instrument types, notably CDS, Indices, Bonds, Loans, and Securitized Products (including CMBS, CLO, RMBS, etc.) useful for multiple use cases across front office and middle office.

The Impact: We are looking for a Software Developer to join our global development team. You will create, design, and maintain applications in the exciting and complex Parsing universe, which interacts with 15+ products and multiple data delivery systems. Our team strives to provide the highest quality data possible to our clients every day. Working with other developers, product subject matter experts, quality assurance and technical teams, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of the product by learning and developing expertise in our content and applications, developing new features, refactoring and migrating the existing codebase to new technologies, providing production support, sharing of information, managing publication of data via our various delivery methods, and more. Our talented team is often called upon to create new, innovative components and solutions in response to the rapid changes in the world financial and regulatory markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, test, debug, and maintainParsing product features.

  • Work directly with business analysts and product specialists to refine and clarify business and technical requirements.

  • Analyze and improve existing processes and system architecture and create technical specifications and documentation.

  • Collaborate with other developers, technical operations, and quality assurance and testing teams to share knowledge,design test cases, ensure the integrity of our systems and processes, integrate industry and firm-based best practices and standards, ensure data quality, design for scalability, etc.

  • Solve problems,analyze and isolate issues including production incidents, and work with various teams to design and implement solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 2 years of development experience using Java technologies, preferably in financial domain

  • Strong fundamentals in algorithms and data structures

  • Strong knowledge of OOP principles, including design patterns

  • Experience in using and understanding regular expressions

  • Work effectively with a team in multiple locations around the world

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Focus on delivery

  • Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Other helpful experience and skills:

  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, e.g., AWS

  • Experience building or working with APIs and services using REST, JSON, etc.

  • Experience with automation technologies such as Apache Ant, Jenkins and Maven

  • Ability to update and manage GitHub repositories
