Citigroup Cash Management Operations Risk & Control Manager in Budapest, Hungary

Overview :

The Cash Management Operations Risk & Control Manager is a pivotal role within the COO organization's Risk & Control function, overseeing Operations. This position drives the Risk and Control framework and governance across Operations, including Cash Management Operations, which manages Citi’s nostro accounts and optimizes fund balances across correspondent bank accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory and policy requirements by collaborating with business and functional leaders.

  • Control Environment: Partner with Operational Risk Management (ORM), Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, and other cross-functional teams to assess and enhance the control environment.

  • Governance and Culture: Implement governance models and drive cultural changes that embed risk mitigation practices.

  • Risk Policies and Tools: Establish and oversee operational risk policies, technology, tools, and governance processes to minimize losses from internal process failures and emerging risks.

  • Risk Assessment: Independently assess risks and address root causes of operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.

  • Risk Reporting: Facilitate accurate reporting of operational risks to senior management and the Board of Directors.

  • Risk Analysis: Analyze operational risk data and indicators, escalate excessive risks, and engage relevant functions to mitigate these risks.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 10+ years in Risk & Controls, in financial services, with a proven experience in cash management and treasury operations within a line business is essential.

  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to make quick, impactful decisions on business financials.

  • Cross-Functional Effectiveness: Ability to work effectively across functions and balance strategic priorities with tactical actions.

  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of business procedures, financial services, control, and regulatory industry standards.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for facilitating reviews with senior stakeholders and control partners.

  • Influencing Skills: Effective organizational influencing skills.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with attention to critical details and the ability to see the big picture.

  • Strategy and Improvement: Proven ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience; a Master’s degree is preferred.
