Job Title: Project Geologist

Job Description

As a Project Geologist, you will be responsible for planning and organizing geological projects, ensuring that project goals, timelines, and resources are effectively managed. Your duties will include gathering and analyzing geological data through field samples, surveys, and data analysis to understand Earth's composition and processes. You will also examine various materials to uncover valuable resources and assess their economic potential. Your role involves significant fieldwork, visiting sites, conducting surveys, and collecting samples. Additionally, you will write detailed technical reports based on your findings and manage the overall logistics and schedules of projects.

Hard Skills

  • Degree in environmental science, geology, biology, etc.

  • 4+ years of experience in a related field

  • Strong background in fieldwork

  • Experience in technical report writing

Soft Skills

  • Ability to manage own schedule effectively

  • Strong project management skills

  • Excellent coordination and oversight abilities

  • Capability to work independently and blend field and office responsibilities

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Buena Park, California.

Work Environment

The work environment is a basic, rustic office setting suitable for hardworking individuals who appreciate simplicity. The position is salaried with overtime pay, and remote work options are available, with most team members coming into the office 1 to 2 days a week. The culture is family-style with a focus on fun and recognition, featuring outings and get-togethers. The Geoscience Department consists of 40 people, with this role operating in a team of 6-8. The typical schedule is 9am to 4pm, with flexibility for fieldwork. Travel is required about 10% to 20% of the time, with approximately 40% of your time spent in the field.
