Position Summary:

The Director of Mission and Ministry at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all campus activities related to our Lasallian mission. This includes coordinating class retreats, service learning opportunities, immersion trips, liturgies, prayer services, reconciliation services, and the Kairos retreat program. The Director will manage a team consisting of a full-time campus minister and a part-time campus minister, ensuring alignment with our school's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote the Lasallian mission and values within the school community.

  • Coordinate and lead class retreats, ensuring they are meaningful and reflective experiences for students.

  • Launch a robust immersion trip program utilizing Lasallian ministries throughout the United States.

  • Organize and track service learning opportunities that encourage students to engage in acts of service and social justice.

  • In collaboration with the campus ministry team and school administration, plan and execute liturgies, prayer services, and reconciliation services.

  • Oversee the Kairos retreat program, including recruitment of student participants, training of leaders, and logistical coordination.

  • Provide spiritual guidance and support and Lasallian formation to students, faculty, and staff members.

  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate mission and ministry into various aspects of school life, including academics, extracurricular activities, and community events.

  • Serve as a liaison between the school and the local community, fostering partnerships with religious organizations, service agencies, and other stakeholders.

  • Manage the budget for Mission and Ministry activities, ensuring resources are used effectively and responsibly.

  • Serve on the St. Joe's leadership team and attend weekly leadership meetings and an annual daylong retreat.

  • Engage with the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and the District of Eastern North America (DENA) in formation programs, retreats, and events.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in theology, pastoral ministry, religious studies, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Experience working in a Catholic educational setting, preferably in a leadership role within Campus Ministry or a similar department.

  • Deep understanding and commitment to the Lasallian mission and charism or a willingness to learn.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.

  • Excellent organizational and managerial abilities, with experience leading teams and coordinating events.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in program development, implementation, and evaluation.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, parents, and external partners.

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and summers as needed for special events and activities.
