The primary responsibility of the Process Design Engineer is to perform engineering tasks related to facility process improvements, continuous improvement projects, new process implementation and capital expenditures. The position entails design of manufacturing processes, equipment, supervising installation of equipment and structures, along with debugging and troubleshooting during the commissioning phases of the project. This position is expected to work closely with other project and design engineers to develop conceptual design ideas into finished drawings for fabrication and installation. It is expected that AutoCAD will be used to produce all drawings and maximize productivity. This position will also provide engineered designs and recommendations while coordinating drafting work on projects assigned.

The Process Design Engineer will work under direct supervision of the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide plant support for capital projects including installation, supervision, start-up and trouble shooting.

  • Complete engineering designs for mechanical systems including process equipment, pollution control and mechanical piping.

  • Work with electrical engineers when incorporating electrical utilities and control systems into designs and coordinate through start-up. These tasks are expected to be assigned within the engineering discipline of the incumbent.

  • Write equipment and construction specifications, coordinate and evaluate bids and provide purchase recommendations.

  • Implement new system designs assignments from concept to finished drawings, fabrication and installation.

  • Prepare drawing packages, specifications and equipment-information packets as necessary for job completion.

  • Utilize MOC program when integrating modified and new equipment into plant operations.

  • Utilize CAD software for all drawing creation and storage filing.

  • Use the Adaptive Coaching process for communication, goal alignment, problem solving, and career planning .

Compensation:

  • $70k - $90k annual / DoE

    Qualifications/Experience:

  • Process Design Engineer I is an entry level position requiring 0-5 years of experience.

  • A minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. MS or MBA is preferred.

  • CAPM certification or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated AutoCAD minimum competency for both design and drafting.

  • Computer Skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint as a minimum.

  • Self-starter with interest in knowing mechanical design in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Requires hands on design approach.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
