Disney Entertainment Coordinator, Production (Disney Branded Television) in Burbank, California

Disney Branded Television is a unit of Disney General Entertainment Content, which oversees development and production of content geared towards kids, teens, and families for Disney+, Disney Channel, Disney Jr and Disney XD.

The Coordinator, Production reports to the Executive Director, Production and collaborates with the entire production management team across a robust slate of unscripted, alternative, short form and 3rd Party specials, series, and films. The Coordinator plays central roles in keeping priorities/schedules in line, as well as handling specific department or project process and show workflow. This position presents numerous opportunities for learning the production process and overall growth in project and production management.

This position will need to have a curious mind and not be afraid to ask questions. An ideal coordinator candidate has unscripted production experience, having worked either in freelance or at a production company in some area of unscripted: Live event, Reality, Specials (Music), Short Form, Documentaries and/or Competition.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Executive Director, Production and handle administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings and managing expense reports, as needed.

  • Work with 3rd party production companies, introducing them to key Company partners as well as onboarding them to Company guidelines and protocols.

  • Create agendas & contact lists for key meetings with senior executives and outside producers, speaking when appropriate to inform attendees of updates, policies, and protocols.

  • Draft and update Production documents which are distributed to all partners.

  • Take meeting notes and create/distribute agendas as requested.

  • Participate in internal and external meetings, zooms, and calls as requested.

  • Assist in set-up & management of key software all 3rd party production companies must use when in production with the Company.

  • Assist post-production department with credit reviews, cut schedule reminders, setting meetings, or as otherwise directed, as needed.

  • Track and file production and post information and paperwork, including but not limited to schedules, decks, call sheets, productions reports, budgets, credits, distribution lists and maintain department calendars for both current and future production forecasting.

  • Communicate regularly with internal Studio Partners, aggregating and distributing key updates and information about DBT-specific shows on Disney+ as assigned.

  • Draft and update Production Manual that is distributed to all 3rd party production companies and internal Studio partners.

  • When requested, work with Production Finance Department to set up vendor accounts.

  • Coordinate with Company Travel department to onboard 3rd Parties, track ongoing problem areas in locations where shows have production footprints and help solve as requested.

  • Coordinate and communicate regularly with internal Company Partners, aggregating and distributing key updates and information about projects.

  • Assist in wrapping shows when they are complete including review of show assets, documents, storage, and liquidation of assets.

  • Focus on furthering Company initiatives such as Diversity & Inclusion, Green and environmental efforts, new emerging digital production technologies (and exhibits a pro-active style to seek out and evaluate new opportunities) etc.

  • Familiarity with all Company Policies, including but not limited to Standards and Practices, Technical Guidelines, etc. to facilitate delivery of compliant projects.

  • Responsible for maintaining and adhering to all Company policies and guidelines, including but not limited to all Financial and Audit requirements (competitive bidding, conflicts of interest, I9 and Immigration, etc.), Harassment, Confidentiality, Standards of Business Conduct, Employment and Safety.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Production Assistant or 2+ years of experience as a Production Coordinator in one or more of the following areas: Television, New Media, Digital Production Company, Network, Cable, Digital Network, or a Production Company/Studio.

  • In-depth, working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Google Suite.

  • Strong listening skills and takes feedback well.

  • Direct and purposeful in all verbal and non-verbal communication

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

  • Strong written and verbal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Self-starter, takes initiative, works independently.

  • Team player, able to establish and maintain good communication and positive relationships with individuals inside and outside the Company.

  • Approaches problems or roadblocks as opportunities for learning and creative thinking

  • Patient, flexible, ready to adapt to change.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Movie Magic Budgeting Software.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $51,200 to $70,200 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
