Insight Global Project Manager/Scrum Master(BI/Data Analytics) in Burbank, California

Job Description

As the Technical Project Manager you will be responsible for analyzing technical requirements, maintaining budgets, enforcing deadlines and keeping leadership abreast of progress. Your duties include planning projects in detail, setting schedules for all stakeholders, executing each step of the project, and maintaining clear and thorough communication with leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and organize the gathered information to understand and implement project requirements.

  • Research and evaluate software technology options and propose cost-effective and scalable solutions.

  • Coordinate with technical resources to groom out detailed project plans with achievable milestones.

  • Utilize the Software Development Lifecycle Process (SDLC) to establish project milestones and checkpoints.

  • Facilitate a consistent and organized flow of information during projects.

  • Adhere to standards established by the PMO for uniformity and consistency.

  • Assign and oversee the daily tasks of technical resources and ensure all are actively working toward established milestones.

  • Hold regular Scrum and Technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects.

  • Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for staff members required for specific projects or initiatives.

  • Recruit and train exceptional employees to fulfill posted positions within the technical department

  • Audit documentation for validity and thoroughness.

Team: Enabling Technologies, which serves as an internal business intelligence/reporting group embedded within a PMO, spanning across the Studios. The ET function has various integration points within their apps, PM tools, providing real-time reporting/analytics for the productions and studio internal leadership, with the goal to help make informed business decisions.

Scope(6-12M):

  • PowerBI: cutting edge enhancements: write-back features; daily snap-shotting for historical tracking for the studios

  • Marvel Slate analytics used by the productions/studio stakeholders for collaboration/insights

  • Providing support across banners: Pixar, Marvel, Animation and live-action Studios

  • Support for HR/Finance teams within the studios: forecasting, creative visual story-telling of large data sets

Skills and Requirements

  • 8+ years experience serving as a project manager.

  • Ideal, project management in the areas of Power BI or other Business Intelligence and reporting tools.

  • Experience the following PPM Tools: Jira, Smartsheet, MS Teams

  • Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies and methods - Agile/Waterfall

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others(must have experience managing multiple projects concurrently)

  • Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising department teams.

  • Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality.

  • Experience working within a remote team

  • Experience applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Define project responsibilities with stakeholders.

  • Participate in how budget and staff are allocated for the project.

  • Manage projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.

  • Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.

  • Analyze economics of project plans and provide actionable feedback relating to cost benefit and return-on-investment standards.

  • 5 plus years of project management experience preferably in the IT and/or M&E field

  • Extensive problem-solving, leadership experience and strong teaming abilities

  • Project managing skills to start projects and finish projects successfully

  • Ideal previous experience working in a Media and Entertainment (M&E) environment

  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members, vendors and management

  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or relevant job experience

  • Local/Hybrid - ideally 2 to 3 days onsite - Professional Project Management Certification from accredited intuition preferred.

  • Previous experience working with Financial or Operations team

  • Technical background

  • Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms projects is preferred

  • Jira Administration or SS Admin experience null
