A non-profit in Burbank is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will demonstrate your expertise in a variety of accounting practices, including accounts receivable and payable, reconciling the general ledger, approving expense reports, and conducting audit. You will be responsible for maintaining the financial health of our organization as you analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, and the company’s actual performance compared to business plans.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial statements and reports, including the monthly and annual accounts.

• Ensure timely, accurate month-end closing and financial reporting to Management.

• Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls, and checks across all departments.

• Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, fixed asset records, general and entity accounting.

• Prepare, analyze, and submit tax documents.

• Reconcile complex ledger accounts, resolve discrepancies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to correct as necessary.

• Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.

• Support financial management decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

• Brief the management team on the company's financial status, developments, and potential risks.

• Develop and implement best practice accounting procedures and processes, and guide junior staff in their roles.

  Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A master's degree or professional accounting accreditation such as CPA or equivalent is ideal.

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant.

• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management.

• Proficient in MS Office (particularly Excel) and accounting software (i.e., QuickBooks).

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.

• Excellent attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy.

• Exceptional critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and a high level of proficiency with financial management software.

The prospective Senior Accountant should be a well-organized, detail-oriented team player with strong analytical skills. The ability to work independently, manage large amounts of data, and keep deadlines is a must.
