The work schedule for this position will be: Schedule: ​Tuesday - Saturday (12:30 am - 9 am) (This position is eligible for a 15% shift differential)

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria

• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures

• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality

• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls

• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care

• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences, OR any Bachelor’s degree which includes 16 credit hours in biological sciences, 16 credit hours in chemical sciences, and one college-level math course

• No previous laboratory experience is required

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment

• Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus

• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
