Overview

Burlington Stores, Inc. is looking for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst II to interact with operational department(s) to review and implement process efficiencies and provide expert assistance in meeting accounting and finance requirements of the Company as well as to provide assistance in identifying efficiency and effectiveness opportunities. The role will take a lead in the forecasting and reporting process within the department(s) assigned to become a key partner between them and the Finance/Accounting teams.
A Day in the Life:

• Capital and Operational Expense Management for Supported Department(s) – Lead monthly forecasting process and month end accruals and analysis. Ensure the accuracy of the financials for the department(s), proper capitalization and general ledger coding.

• Budget vs Actual Tracking – Collaborate with supported department(s) with both capital and expense budgets to develop monthly tracking, and analysis. Position will gain understanding of all general ledger accounts charged to by the department(s) supported to understand and document all variances to plan and partner with department(s) to ensure plan commitments are realized.

• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and identify opportunities to enhance existing procedures to improve control, measurement and productivity. Identify trends in financial performance, identify risks & opportunities, and provide recommendations for improvement.

• Performance Improvement Contribution (PIC) – Identify, execute, and/or support PIC initiatives. Respond to the needs of the Company by identifying and realizing additional expense/capital saving practices.

• Special Projects – complete special projects as given.

You'll Come With:

• Education: 4-yr Accounting/Finance degree required; MBA a plus

• Licenses/Certification/Registration: none required

• Minimum 3-5 years related Accounting/Finance experience preferably in a new store and construction project environment in the retail industry.

• Advanced Excel user, proficiency in computerized accounting applications

Scope and Impact:

This position will be a permanent Accounting & Finance position assigned to the Construction Department. The role will take a lead to ensure proper compliance with Company’s capitalization policy as well as on the re-forecasting and budgeting process becoming a key partner with the Finance/Accounting teams.

This role will develop analysis and provide feedback and/or ideas to partner with the supported department(s) to ensure they have the necessary tools to manage the business thru an understanding of their financials to include monthly re-forecasting, budgeting, expense challenges, and Performance Improvement Contribution (PIC). Provide additional reporting to Sr. Finance Manager - Construction and Sr. Management as requested.
