Overview
Position Summary:

The Vice President of Field Operations and Change Management leads store workload, communications, and field operations functions to land process and tool changes in stores and support day-to-day operational execution. The team owns the last mile for all initiatives affecting stores from product receiving to customer experience, and every element in between. The role is responsible for the quality of in-store execution, follow-through, and sustainment so that change sticks and stores adopt innovations. It is at the core of delivering world-class execution of the off-price retail model at Burlington. The right individual will be a great problem solver, collaborator, people leader, and communicator with experience leading store operations and/or field teams at national scale retailers.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Strategy: Develop change management model for stores and field. Establish a go-to-market process for initiatives. Create tools and partnerships to make changes stick, to monitor progress, and resolve issues for 100% follow-through.

  • Workload planning: Oversee store workload management and related technology to balance demand and capacity for change in stores. Partner with field, HR, Learning & Development, IT and others to grow store capacity to absorb innovation and deliver on-process execution.

  • Communications: Lead all store and field communications across digital and physical media. Define communications strategy, channels, standards, and publication processes.

  • Field operations: In partnership with Territory SVPs and Regional VPs, oversee quality of operational execution in stores and be the standard bearer for operational excellence. Support and hold accountable field leaders for delivering KPI goals of all processes within the four walls of the store.

  • People development: Train, coach, and performance manage teams within the function and mentor individuals in related functions. Establish internal processes to foster professional growth and capability development to create a high-performing organization.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Engage closely with Field, HR, AP, IT, Supply Chain, and other functions to deliver on objectives, garner support for programs, and coordinate cross-functional execution of initiatives in the Stores organization.

Education and Qualifications:
Education:

  • B.A. or equivalent in operations, engineering, finance or related field

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred

Experience:

  • 15 years of experience in retail

  • 10 years of experience in store operations or field at leadership level in national scale retail

  • Proven ability to drive change in stores at national scale retail

  • Demonstrated problem solving, organizational leadership, and exceptional communication skills

  • Experience in roles where results depend on influencing up and across
