Posting Summary
Serves as administrative assistant to the Chair, including editorial and administrative support for the department chair and faculty. Schedules courses, teaching spaces, and coordinates course and curriculum changes. Creates and manages the department website, listservs, email accounts, Teams and Sharepoint sites. Handles advisor assignment and change of major/minor for undergraduate students. Assists in grad student recruitment activities, including visits, interviews, etc. Assists with event planning, including annual welcome, department retreat, and end-of-year celebration; weekly seminar socials; and other department-related events such as retirement parties. Coordinates maintenance requests, department van, and keeps office stocked with supplies. Assists with special projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Associate’s degree and three years’ related experience. Ability to communicate effectively, particularly in writing; the ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask; and the ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing needs.
Desirable Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; general ease with technology and experience with the Microsoft Office suite, website management, and/or UVM systems and software; strong interpersonal skills.
Anticipated Pay Range $22- $27 per hour

Special Conditions A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
