Daimler Trucks North America LLC 3rd Shift HDEP Engine Assembly- Production Technician in Byesville, Ohio
Inside the Role This position is responsible for the assembly of HDEP heavy duty diesel engines by way of the established remanufacturing process. Associate is responsible for assembly of all components onto HDEP Engines to a complete engine build ready for dyno. Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including: repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, the use of machinery, and following standardized work procedures Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput Operate torque wrenches, air tools, presses, gauges, hoist, press, hand tools, computers, PIV.. Use of pallet jack & hoist Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers Adhere to established work rotation plan Complete training matrix for each rotation position Ability to read and understand Work Station Instructions Other tasks and/or duties as requested Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy Knowledge You Should Bring Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds. (with assistance from a team member or use of hoist) Must maintain a clean work area. Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures Cross train on other jobs as required Ability to operate riveting, torqueing, hand tools and small power tools in a safe and nondestructive manner.
