Work with our customers including electricity / gas / water utility clients, transport infrastructure agencies, industries, regulators, provincial and municipal governments, independent system operators, and fleet operators.

What will you do?

Are you familiar with consulting large organizations above on key energy and sustainability related topics? Great! Then you will be an excellent problem solver of our customer's complex challenges that come along with energy transition. Help us to find opportunities and novel business models of the future.

  • A relationship building expert who puts the customer first when developing energy transition strategies, undertaking smart energy system planning and concept designing.

  • Develop digitalization strategies with our customers by using the Digitalization Compass™, our core utility consulting framework: analyze the utility’s current situation, develop a strategic vision for the future, and use technology deployments as key business enablers to move toward the identified vision.

  • Conduct feasibility / techno-economic studies of smart grid, eMobility infrastructure, cyber security and distributed energy projects to identify business cases for customers.

  • Create resources and tools for grid modernization and decarbonization strategies.

  • Identify new business opportunities in the markets, define and shape customer value propositions for our portfolio and also link with the strategy and initiatives of our Grid Software business.

  • Lead climate and decarbonization strategy development and execution.

  • Lead and support business development.

  • Develop and grow consulting portfolio elements globally.

  • Travel provincially and nationally to meet with external and internal stakeholders.

We are currently looking for candidates located in Alberta or British Colombia.

What will you need to succeed?

  • University degree in Engineering, Economics, Business or equivalent – Master’s or PhD preferred

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience leading business development and achieving sales targets

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in delivering consultancy services or related position

  • Demonstrates a solid working knowledge of a number of the following: DER technologies; Distributed Generation, Battery Storage, Demand Side Management, Electric Vehicle Infrastructure, Decarbonization Strategies, Energy Efficiency, Grid Modernization, Digitalization & Analytics

  • Experience with gathering and managing systems and business

  • Experience with implementing transformational and technologically complex programs

  • Experience with business transformation program delivery, process modeling and process re-engineering

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Available for frequent domestic and some international travel when needed

The following experience and skills would be considered strong assets for this role:

  • Experience with one or more of the following technology solutions: Distribution Management Systems/ADMS, GIS, SCADA

  • Understanding of DER program design principles, incentive models and cost effectiveness test methodologies

  • Experience in GHG impact analysis and modelling

  • Experience designing solutions for the utility industry involving smart grid technologies

  • Experience in power systems analysis and design using modeling and simulation software

  • An advanced degree in engineering or MBA
