Position Overview

Due to our continued growth and development plan, Shaw Sports Turf is looking for a highly motivated, well organized Service & Support Project Manager who can work in a fast-paced environment. Someone with the ability to proactively plan and manage multiple projects from bidding to final completion. This position requires an elevated level of collaboration and communication with other key departments and stakeholders (i.e., Sales, Marketing, Distributor Partners, Supply Chain, Legal, Manufacturing and Customer Service).

Service & Support Project Managers are primarily responsible for achieving success by managing the scope, schedule, and budget of a portfolio containing $1-2M. These projects will consist of high-profile sports programs at all levels of competition, including high school, college, and professional levels. Working with a sense of urgency at all times is needed to remain in a proactive position and manage customer expectations. A Service & Support Project Manager will be responsible for understanding all the details of a project and how they support the overall business strategy. Service & Support Project Managers will develop collaborative working relationships with business partners and senior-level leadership through effective communication and delivering world-class customer experience.

Ability to communicate professionally and demonstrate effective influential project leadership with customers, vendors, managers, and associates. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness. Technical aptitude and strong computer skills, with the ability to maneuver through several operating systems. Service & Support Project Managers must have a strong work ethic, be well organized, and reliable. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills will be needed.

Essential Responsibilities

Pre-Construction Process:

  • Review necessary plans and specifications, scope and budget review, take offs, request for quotes from subcontractors, conduct site survey, attend pre-con meetings.

  • Gather relevant information about the project to ensure accurate pricing/costing.

  • Create detailed shop drawings and distribute submittals, product data and samples for approval by the client.

  • Coordinate effectively with customers to obtain submittal approvals and fully executed contracts prior to manufacturing.

  • Attend pre-construction and progress meetings.

  • Follow-up with Construction Managers/site work contractors for base preparation to coordinate the turf delivery with Logistics and turf installation.

Execution Process:

  • Clear communication with all critical project team members and partners (Project Coordinators, Customer Service, Production Planning, etc.) to ensure that all materials are manufactured and delivered on time.

  • Coordinate and manage all communication between customers and project team throughout installation.

  • Create change order estimates, proposals, and negotiate with customers, subcontractors, and /or general contractors prior to completion of additional scope of work.

  • Direct the activities of both internal and subcontracted installation crews while taking action to deal with the results of delays, harsh weather, or other onsite emergencies.

  • Drive the execution of multiple projects simultaneously, in a highly demanding environment, while ensuring that the customer requirements are exceeded.

  • Improve customer experience by providing prompt and accurate responses to their inquiries while continuously communicating project updates.

Completion Process:

  • Follow-up and resolve any punch list items to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Coordinate and/or attend final completion walkthrough meetings.

  • Lead and Assist Project Coordinators with job closeout and warranty issuance.

  • Process improvement, post-mortem evaluations upon completion of a project.

  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned to support the business.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

  • 3 + Years of Project Management Experience

  • Must be able to travel

Preferred:

  • Project Management experience in a construction environment

  • Construction Management Degree

Work Shift

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
