ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, STEWARDSHIP AND DONOR RELATIONS, Alumni Association, to play a key role in developing and implementing a comprehensive stewardship plan for all annual giving donors to the Institute. Will be responsible for reporting on pooled funds for scholarships, professorships, and student research opportunities known as UROPs; serve as the lead contact for the Annual Giving Loyalty Circle (three-plus consecutive years) program, including managing a volunteer chair and data analysis that informs strategies; managing special events for Annual Giving Leadership Circle donors ($2,500+); and serving as an on-campus facilitator for stewardship activities, including MIT’s annual giving day.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; three years of experience in stewardship/donor relations, communications, or a related field; excellent interpersonal, project management, planning, analytical, organizational, presentation, and written and oral communication skills; attention to detail; discretion and good judgment with confidential information; and proficiency with computers and standard applications (including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Seek someone who demonstrates initiative, a strategic approach to the work, and is open to and welcomes change. Must be able to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, alumni, and other constituents; collaborate as part of a team; effectively develop and deliver training sessions for a variety of audiences; influence others and move toward a common vision/goal; and prioritize multiple simultaneous assignments and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality in a diverse, demanding, high-volume, and service-oriented environment. PREFERRED: background in special events and/or stewardship; ability to recruit, motivate, train, and manage volunteers; and familiarity with donor database, event tools such as Cvent, and web presentation software such as Zoom.
