Job Summary

Anokion is seeking an experienced and motivated Scientist II to develop and execute in vivo models that support early-stage research and discovery efforts. This individual will report to the Director of Immunology, should be highly organized, and have extensive experience developing and conducting in vivo models. Familiarity with models of immunology and/or autoimmunity is required. This is a hands-on role that will involve conducting and supervising in vivo work; submitting and ensuring compliance with IACUC protocols and amendments; and managing CROs. Significant collaboration with a talented and dedicated group of scientists including biochemists, cell biologists, and immunologists, will provide a diverse exposure to the drug discovery process.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead the design and development of in vivo mouse models of immunology and autoimmunity to support drug discovery programs

  • Conduct, supervise, and train individuals on routine in vivo procedures, including injections, blood collection, and necropsy/tissue collection

  • Submit, amend, and ensure compliance with IACUC protocols

  • Prepare and summarize data, create presentations and write technical reports to communicate key findings to project teams and support the drug development process

  • Author and maintain detailed protocols and ELN documentation and contribute to IND-enabling reports

    Qualifications and Skills

  • M.S. or Ph.D. degree in a life sciences field; consideration will be given to individuals with a B.S. degree and a strong track record of successful in vivo model development

  • Must have 5+ years of experience with a broad range of in vivo models and model development, with at least 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical and/or biotech companies

  • Expertise with routine in vivo procedures, including injections (i.v./s.c./i.d.), blood collection, and necropsy/tissue collection; must have experience training and supervising other team members in routine procedures

  • Experience in the development and implementation of mouse models of immunology/autoimmunity

  • Extensive experience with managing IACUC protocols and compliance

  • Strong communication, organization and documentation skills

  • Ability to prioritize and work across multiple projects to meet deadlines

  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional, flexible and team-oriented environment

    This role is based on site in Cambridge, MA
