Lockheed Martin Ordnance Safety Engineer and Systems Specialist Staff in Camden, Arkansas

The candidate will be responsible for the overall implementation, development and ongoing management of ESH related programs, specific to Ordnance and Energetics Management, at MFC and LM facilities. Candidate will interpret, communicate, and facilitate compliance with Lockheed Martin, Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) and all federal/state/local ESH regulations.

Candidate will oversee compliance to the Title 49 Hazardous Materials Transportation Regulations to include Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV) program, hazardous material shipments (includes all modes of transport), transportation security plans, etc. The candidate will be responsible for supporting compliance to the Title 27 BATFE regulations for the MFC facilities that handle, transfer and/or import/export firearms, destructive devices, and/or explosives. Candidate will also be responsible for implementing a contractor vetting program that will ensure oversight/contractor management and performance assessment criteria.

Candidates will engage in Global Supply Chain vendors to assure compliance to DoD, MDA, and BATFE regulations.

Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a functional team to resolve issues. Candidate must be solutions oriented and work at detailed technical level along with presenting to leadership through interpretation of requirements for business case and decision making purposes.

Candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and may be asked to assist in program development, supplier assessments, international business activities, and merger/acquisition opportunities. Candidate will work with corporate SMEs to enhance programs, systems, and methods for safe, efficient, and successful business operations.

Candidate must be able to travel and work overtime/weekends.

Basic Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education.

-Ten years’ experience managing ordnance safety programs/process safety facility or operation in a heavy manufacturing, production, or DoD location.

-Familiarity with/ability to read and interpret all ESH policy, procedure and law.

-Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance and must have at least an Interim Security Clearance prior to start.

-Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills required.

-Demonstrated ability as a team player to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships with team members.

-Ability to show program or project successes that demonstrate expertise and working across boundaries with multiple functions for success.

-Experience with internal and external stakeholder relationship development

-Experience in providing executive level presentations

-Must have the ability to periodically work on-call and to travel 70% or more to facilities (domestic and international.)

*Candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (“ATF”) background check to obtain approval to be an “employee possessor” (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.

Desired Skills:

-Systems safety knowledge preferred.

-Comprehensive understanding of ordnance/energetics regulations (i.e. DoD 4145.26), interpretation, and management systems.

-Experience in Process Safety Management - 29 CFR 1910.119

-Demonstrated ability to interact with DoD customers and build effective relationships.

-Experience implementing and managing DOT programs.

-Professional Safety Certification (OHST, CSP or other) or technical degree and Industry Recognized Safety Training.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
