Imperative Care Director Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) in Campbell, California

Location: This position is based in our Campbell, California offices. This position is on-site and full-time

What You’ll Do

The Director HRBP consults and advises business leaders on strategies, programs, initiatives, and policies and procedures across the spectrum of HR functions.  This role is responsible for providing strategic leadership and functional excellence through partnership across the organization in employee development, engagement and retention for assigned businesses or groups. Collaboration and integration skills are critical to success in this role, along with the ability to interface and influence at the executive level and a desire to engage with employees at all levels.

  • Act as a trusted business partner to senior leaders to coach and develop people practices that create a highly engaged culture of high performance

  • Establish and implement HR initiatives that effectively communicate and support the business vision and strategic plans

  • Collaborate with HR leaders and team to create and implement meaningful people-centered programs that engage employees and move the business strategy forward 

  • Utilize personal experience and a thorough understanding of business objectives to translate strategies into actionable workforce plans

  • Support leaders in establishing sound succession plans that align with the short- and long-term talent needs of the organization

  • Manage the HRBP team; mentor, coach, and develop the team and create an environment of trust and collaboration among the HRBP and broader HR teams

  • Conduct needs assessments across assigned business areas and make recommendations for training, development, or intervention based on best practices

  • Facilitate the annual performance management process for business groups, including performance reviews, management training, and manager capabilities development

  • Prepare, maintain, and use relevant data to inform and build insights for client groups

  • Understand resource needs and work with the HR Talent team to assure adequate recruiting strategies that meet staffing needs in a timely manner

  • Partner with leaders to assure Imperative Care fosters and demonstrates a workplace that creates opportunity, builds trust, drives innovation, and exceeds expectations

  • Provide strong HR consulting services in the handling of complex employee relations issues, successfully conducting investigations, and applying law and relevant policies and past practices to mitigate risk for the company

  • Help develop, drive and foster a culture in which employees are engaged, motivated and feel appreciated

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of HR best practices and legal requirements, and ensure programs and processes are in compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws

  • Lead definition, implementation, and measurement of outcomes of HR programs through data analysis and reporting

    What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and 10+ years of progressive experience in HR/People Practices, including at least 5 years in an HRBP role; experience in a medical device environment preferred

  • 2+ years of previous supervisory experience strongly preferred

  • Ability to evaluate options and solve complex business problems based on relevant information, available resources, and strong work experience and knowledge

  • Strong working knowledge of HR practices including org design, employee relations, performance management, and manager coaching; familiarity with applicable state and local laws

  • Excellent organization and communications skills (both written and verbal) required

  • Proven experience building trust and respect of leaders and employees

  • Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail and sense of urgency

  • Uses good judgment and makes thoughtful decisions

  • Demonstrated ability to respond to and resolve employee issues with a strong customer service orientation

  • Strong change management, consulting and project management skills

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities with limited hands-on supervision, prioritize work and projects, and respond to a changing and dynamic environment

    Salary Range: $218,000 – 238,000 annually
