Eaton’s IS VEH Power Connections division is currently seeking a Tool and Die Designer. This position is based at our Carol Stream, IL facility.

The Tool and Die Designer is responsible for creation of tool design specification sheets, BOM’s, drawings, 3D data and participate in tool design reviews. Decisions and recommendations typically associated with 3D CAD operations.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $52499.97 - $76999.96 a year. This position is overtime eligible.

What you’ll do:

• Receive, understand, and follow all written and oral instructions

• Design tools, within specified time frames, to company standards

• Works with the tool room to debug tools and keep files up to date

• Must be able to interpret blueprints in order to verify conformance of parts to prints using measuring instruments

• Education/training in tool design.

• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with coworkers and management.

• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

• Mechanical aptitude must be strong to assess the viability of complex part interrelations in a complete tool assembly model.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

• Minimum of a HS Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution

• Minimum of five (5) years experience in Tool & Die Design and/or as a Tool & Die Maker

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Carol Stream, IL will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Journeyman Tool & Die Maker Certificate

• Experience in solid modeling with NX, Progressive Die Wizard

• Experience in AutoCAD

Skills:

• Occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds

• Noise level in plant is moderate.

• PPE inclusive of safety glasses, steel toed shoes and hearing protection is required in manufacturing areas

• Good problem-solving skills, strong verbal communication skills, and strong teamwork skills

• Attention to detail

• Able to follow-through on assigned tasks
