Job Description

Role Summary

The Senior Dam Engineer is responsible for leading the design and implementation of dam projects, ensuring technical excellence and innovation. This role demands advanced engineering skills to contribute significantly to the planning, design, and management of dam engineering projects, while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the strategic goals of AECOM.

Role Responsibilities

Technical/Professional Expertise

  • Lead the technical design and analysis of dam projects from conceptual to detailed stages.

  • Conduct dam safety inspections and assessments.

  • Provide construction support and manage design teams.

  • Prepare and evaluate tenders and proposals.

  • Develop and maintain high standards of engineering practice.

Client Engagement

  • Establish and maintain robust client relationships.

  • Understand and respond to client needs and challenges.

  • Participate in business development and client feedback processes.

Financial/Project Management

  • Manage the financial aspects of projects.

  • Ensure timely delivery of projects within budget and scope.

  • Oversee project teams, ensuring compliance with company standards.

Leadership

  • Mentor and support the professional development of junior engineers.

  • Lead by example in adherence to AECOM's core values and safety standards.

  • Contribute to recruitment and training initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering or related field.

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience, with a focus on dam engineering.

  • Registration as a Chartered Engineer or equivalent preferred.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and project management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.

Knowledge

  • Proficient in relevant engineering software and Microsoft Office.

  • Up-to-date with industry standards and innovations in dam engineering.
