Join our Legal Team at Martin's as a Legal Assistant!

Summary: The corporate Legal Assistant will provide support to legal counsel, whose support will include, among other things, assisting legal counsel in managing transactions, preparing and reviewing legal documents, corresponding and coordinating with counsel, corporate personnel and third parties, and organizing legal documents and affairs. The Legal Assistant should be organized, disciplined, prompt, independent, proactive, courteous, an excellent oral and written communicator, and astute.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following and other duties as assigned.

  • Recognize the potential implications of decisions and actions.

  • Correspond orally and in writing with counsel and corporate and third party personnel.

  • Prepare legal documents and correspondence accurately and timely.

  • Maintains legal documents in an organized and orderly manner.

  • Track open matters and pursue the expeditious closure of the same.

  • Work with independent distributors regarding the purchase and sale of distribution rights.

  • Monitor corporate and third party compliance with contractual and legal obligations.

  • Provide honest and ethical guidance.

  • Facilitate inter-departmental communication and coordination of efforts.

  • Assist legal counsel in the review and analysis of applicable law and legal developments.

  • Understand and anticipate department needs.

  • Willingly accept responsibility for new tasks and pursue opportunities to add value.

  • Identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

    Education and/or Experience:
