Job Title: Construction Project Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a Construction Finance Project Manager to join our growing team in Chandler, AZ. This is a full-time position with robust benefits, supporting our premiere client. Responsibilities

  • Build a rapport with the project team to help manage and advise on commercial project impacts.

  • Prepare and issue monthly and quarterly cash flow forecasts to the capital construction team.

  • Prepare and issue monthly, quarterly, and total project funding and commitment forecasts to the capital construction team.

  • Manage and control the capital project budget and spends at the work breakdown schedule (WBS) level.

  • Create WBS codes and scope alignment.

  • Validate and approve purchase requisitions and change orders.

  • Review all project invoices and ensure junior technical staff codes the invoices appropriately before forwarding them to the client's accounts payable department.

  • Overview and report to the client on contractor buyout of subcontract bids and lead regular cost meetings to align on budget, spending, and change order status with contractors and engineering teams.

  • Manage, validate, and track change orders.

  • Conduct monthly spend-to-forecast variance analysis and drive the forecast to spend within the required acceptance range.

  • Perform risk and opportunity analysis.

  • Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis.

  • Ensure compliance with reporting standards and corporate finance and accounting policies.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, finance, quantity surveying, or a related field.

  • Five years of relevant experience (3-7 years for junior positions, 7+ years for sr positions).

  • Strong cost management, scheduling, and project planning skills.

  • Experience working on or with construction projects, preferably within the industrial, energy, or pharmaceutical sectors.

  • High level understanding of developing budgets, cash flows, and forecasts for construction work.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Working knowledge of industry-standard software, including but not limited to SAP, PowerBI, and cost management applications.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project.

  • Advanced Excel skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • OSHA 10-hour certification preferred.

  • Experience in the semiconductor, commercial, industrial, or refinery sectors is preferred.

  • Highly articulate with a clear and analytical approach to problem solving and strong decision-making abilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or equivalent (e.g., cost engineer, quantity surveyor).

  • Two to five years of experience in project controls, financial control, or quantity surveying.

  • Detail-oriented and analytical.

  • Experience with financial controls, architecture, construction documents, Revit, AutoCAD, design, architectural design, construction administration, project management, mechanical engineering, and mechanical design.

Work Environment

This position involves working onsite at the client's location in Chandler, AZ. The team operates in a dynamic and collaborative environment, leveraging advanced technologies and software. The role includes standard office hours, with occasional extended hours based on project needs. The dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
