Our Mission Solutions Business Area (MSBU) at Leidos is seeking a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Assembly Technician to support a government contract in the National Capital Region (NCR). The ideal candidate will be able to design, assemble, and interface with commercial vendors for the assembly of printed circuit boards leveraging automated assembly processes and techniques. The candidate must have experience with PCB manufacturing, PCB assembly and the proper handling and management of associated materials (solder pastes, flux, etc.).

In this role you will:

  • Work as part of a team for the production of PCB designs and assemblies,

  • Assemble PCBs to support project tasks and objectives leveraging automated assembly and reflow processes,

  • Assist with the design and development of PCB engineering solutions in support of unique and complex customer requirements,

  • Work as part of a team to maintain a safe operating environment in the shop and work closely with the safety officer to adhere to OSHA and EPA regulations,

  • Assist with skills development for associated officer training courses and proper use of equipment,

  • Work as part of a team to communicate and interface with internal customer stakeholders to gather end product requirements for development,

  • Review E-CAD designs for potential manufacturing defects/challenges and recommend modifications to ensure smooth delivery process,

  • Communicate with vendors to assist PCB fabrication and assembly needs in support of customer requirements and timelines,

  • Create and maintain documentation for PCB assembly equipment, processes, and techniques

  • Maintain assembly machines, software, and supplies,

  • CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required 5% of the time.

Clearance Required:

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph is required, or active TS/SCI with willingness to upgrade to polygraph

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience. Additional work experience can be used in lieu of degree/combined with education

  • Experience maintaining manual and automated assembly tools

  • Demonstrated experience with automated PCB assembly and solder reflow techniques

  • Demonstrated experience with PCB design and manufacturing to aid assembly operations

  • Demonstrated experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting PCB assembly equipment, software, and supplies

  • Demonstrated experience interpreting schematics, assembling PCBs and components using industry best practices and performing 100% quality inspections of final assemblies

  • Demonstrated experience performing inspection of PCBs through all assembly process stages

  • Demonstrated ability to advise and assist engineers PCB assembly best practices

  • Demonstrated experience working on a team

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, and adapt quickly to changing requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain IPC specialist-level certifications related to PCB assembly

  • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Altium training and design

  • Demonstrated experience with manual hand soldering and rework

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
