We are seeking a highly skilled Senior System Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in supporting Linux, Windows, and VMware systems, along with proficiency in managing backup and storage devices.

Job Responsibilities:

System Administration:

  • Administer and maintain Linux, Windows, and VMware systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems, software applications, and patches across various platforms.

  • Monitor system performance, conduct performance tuning, and implement capacity planning measures.

  • Perform routine system maintenance tasks, such as backups, software updates, and security enhancements.

Backup and Storage Management:

  • Manage and maintain backup solutions, including scheduling backups, monitoring backup jobs, and ensuring data integrity and recoverability.

  • Configure and administer storage devices, such as SAN/NAS systems, to provide scalable and reliable storage solutions.

  • Implement data replication and disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime and data loss.

Troubleshooting and Incident Response:

  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to system performance, connectivity, and software functionality.

  • Respond promptly to system alerts, incidents, and service outages, and escalate as necessary to minimize impact on operations.

  • Document troubleshooting procedures, resolutions, and system configurations for future reference and knowledge sharing.

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, software developers, and IT support staff, to address technical challenges and achieve organizational goals.

  • Mentor junior team members, provide technical guidance and training, and promote a culture of continuous learning and development.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in system administration and IT infrastructure management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration, with a focus on Linux, Windows, and VMware environments.

  • Proficiency in managing backup solutions (e.g., Rubrik, Veeam) and storage devices (e.g., Pure, NetApp).

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, MCSE, VCP) are a plus.
