Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Office Assistant serves as the first point of contact for the department and also has primary responsibility for maintaining student and enrollment records.
Provide support to faculty and manages the department’s web page.
Oversee scheduling for the department’s History and General Education offerings.
Assist the Office Manager with budgeting and disbursements.
Build Fall, Spring, and Summer schedules for the department – coordinating with other units, as necessary.
Perform inventory and ordering on a regular basis.
Assist the Office Manager with travel authorizations and reimbursements.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school, or completion of its equivalency, and two years of office/clerical work experience; or an equivalent combination of training/experience.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Associates Degree with at least two (2) years office experience is desired.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Experience working in Higher Education is preferred.
Knowledge of MS (Word and Excel), and Google Suite strongly preferred.
The ability to work with very careful attention to detail and deadlines is essential.
Experience with Banner, and/or or similar University systems is desired.
Experience with problem solving, and resourcefulness, are a plus.
Ability to work independently, with a high level of professionalism, customer service orientation, and an understanding of confidentiality is strongly preferred.
