Wells Fargo API Principal Engineer - Chief Development Office in CHARLOTTE, North Carolina

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer with deep knowledge of IBM DataPower and a strong understanding engineering best practice and financial industry risk.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups

  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking

  • Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions

  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions

  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization

  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in development and solutioning using IBM DataPower

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with APIGEE development and solutioning

  • 2+ years of experience in message systems like IBM MQ and Kafka and integration experience using DataPower

  • 2+ years of Knowledge on network components like Load balancers, Firewalls and Proxies

Desired Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge on API security and Cryptography with implementation experience using DataPower

  • Excellent communication and presentation skill for various audience

  • In depth knowledge in technical solutions and architecture

  • Experience working in finance domain

  • Knowledge on Cloud products and implementation

Job Expectations:

  • Solutioning and implementation of APIs using the DataPower and APIGEE API products.

  • Lead the migration of the DataPower services to APIGEE or other approved platform.

  • Lead Automaton and CI/CD effort

  • API security and cloud migration

  • Working with teams across various regions and zones with flexibility

  • Mentoring and guiding the team for success

  • Handle the escalations and production support as needed

  • This position has an in-office expectation, you are expected to work in a hybrid capacity preferably in our Charlotte CIC office.
