Eaton Corporation Construction Sales Manager, Panelboards in Charlotte, North Carolina

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Construction Sales Manager, Panelboards. This role is based in our Charlotte ARS office and candidates for this role must reside within 50 miles of our Charlotte, NC location to be considered for the position. Relocation assistance will be offered for successful applicants who live outside this location.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $120075.03 - $176110.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

Our Construction Sales Manager - Panelboards will manage incoming P&S order volume and mix to ensure the product line meets or exceeds top line sales, price, and market share targets for the general sales markets with respect to panelboards. This includes order negotiation, quotation activities, providing daily commercial guidance and technical support as well as other functions required to support profitable growth. The incumbent will also be responsible to council and train and supervise a team of regional sales/application engineers. In addition, the incumbent will need to identify changing market conditions, including competitive activities that affect the product line and implement actions that will correct and/or take advantage of these market conditions or competitor actions.

What you’ll do:

  • Guide and motivate regional sales/application engineers to secure manufacturable and profitable orders.

  • Support NAS by providing advice that allow the sales engineers to develop a solution and implement action plan to resolution or conclusion.

  • Provides training that allows expansion of sales engineer's responsibility and provides foundation for career advancement.

  • Represents the product line in customer presentations, and marketing / objectives / financial presentations. Represents and protects the product line in decisions concerning business policy, commercial concessions, and compromises.

  • Advises management, engineering, and product development on market changes in customer requirements of service, product features, industry standards, and competitive product offerings.

  • Provides the latest tools (systems, hardware, and software) to enhance sales engineer’s efficiency and productivity.

  • Provides input to strategic planning, road-mapping, and profit planning processes.

  • Interacts directly with Champs organization and field sales to execute on annual orders (OE) plan and monthly forecasts.

  • Works directly with plant operations to prioritize customer order milestones such as drawing dates, ship dates, etc.

  • Works closely with satellite organization to support quick ship opportunities and market share growth.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum five (5) years of electrical industry experience.

  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.

• Ten (10) years of electrical industry sales experience.

• One (1) year of manager of people experience.

• Sales experience within the construction sales market.

• Channel management experience.

• Experience working with consulting engineers.

• Experience managing/motivating distributors and channel partners.

Skills:

  • Ability to respond to a variety of circumstances while continuing to demonstrate superior selling skills for important customer services and applications.

  • Electrical product knowledge.

  • Strong drive for results and self-motivated (ability to work independently).

  • Solid business acumen and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to travel 25%.

  • Knowledge of competitor products and channels in the utility industry.

  • Project management skills.

  • Ability to provide technical solutions built around customer needs.

  • Skilled in time management.

  • Possess negotiating skills while understanding and using techniques needed to close orders.

  • Experience with preparing sales proposals that meet customer expectations.

  • Experience utilizing value added selling techniques.

  • Strong work ethic, communications skills, competitiveness, willingness to learn and adept at building relationships.
