About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer, specializing in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC). This engineering role is a hands-on opportunity to be responsible for the delivery of features enabling IaC functionality for other engineers to consume, driving solutions and frameworks to advance IaC adoption and standards across all of Wells Fargo Technology. The ideal candidate has a strong and broad technical background in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining systems automation solutions using cloud-native tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes and/or other container/workload orchestration solutions).
In this role, you will:
Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals

The ideal candidate has a strong and broad technical background in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining systems automation solutions using cloud-native tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes and/or other container/workload orchestration solutions). In this role, you will:
Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
Build CI/CD orchestration pipelines for IaC and deploy/test across environments
Integrate IaC Platform with enterprise tools ((Vault, ITSM Tool, other IaC Tools, Active directory)
Customize IaC Platforms and improve the customer experience.
Perform Peer review of the code developed by other developers and provide feedback
Define standards for IaC tools and platforms to improve quality.

Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
Integrate with enterprise tools and environment standards
Shape technical proposals to be commercially acceptable to the customer
Defines the approach to larger/more complex solution development and acceptance testing
Contributes to the overall platform architecture
Design solutions of significant size and complexity
Collaborate with application teams and onboard new application platforms onto Terraform Enterprise
Lead or participate in high level technical concepts spanning technology and business
Develop specifications for complex infrastructure systems, design and test solutions
Contribute to the testing of business, application and technical infrastructure requirements
Drive solutions to reduce recovery time and recovery point capabilities
Review and analyze solutions for security, secrets management, and key rotations (Security Automation)
Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
Resolve troublesome trends as they develop
Develop a long-range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring
Required Qualifications, US:
5+ years of Software Engineering or Systems Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
5+ years of Systems Engineering experience in Infrastructure Automation (Terraform and Python), Building and developing CI/CD Pipelines, and Cloud Computing technologies
2+ Years of Experience in designing and setting up Terraform Enterprise or Terraform Cloud platforms at enterprise scale.
Desired Qualifications:
Product centric mindset in managing any IaC/CI/CD Platforms
Experience in writing Terraform Module
Good understanding of Terraform Open Source and Terraform Enterprise/Cloud platforms.
Development experience with Python and Shell or other scripting languages
Experience in creating and deploying IaC frameworks for a large customer base
Experience using GitHub Actions
Experience working with ServiceNow
Understanding of Secret management such as Vault
Experiencing working with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Experience working on platform engineering teams
Experience managing configuration, build and deployments for enterprise software solutions
In-Depth knowledge of Windows Server and Linux orchestration and automation
Ability to create product backlog (write epics/features/stories)
Experienced in working in Agile methodologies
Excellent communication skills – written and spoken
Ability to understand critical issues and bring appropriate resolution to complex issues
High degree of professionalism, self-motivation and problem-solving attitude
Job Expectations:
Work Schedule: 3 days in office/2 days at home. Schedule is subject to change based on business needs.
Ability to work additional hours as needed
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
