At the Circular Solutions and Operations facility in Charlotte, N.C., we receive Powertrain Components that have exceeded their initial life cycle and restore them to their original performance specifications. Our work is challenging and rewarding as we help the Volvo Group fulfill its mission of “driving prosperity through transport and infrastructure solutions.” This opportunity with the Charlotte, NC Remanufacturing team also offers the ability to learn an interesting aspect of the business while making a positive impact on the environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs reactive and preventive maintenance on machines and production equipment.

  • Records, reports, and acts on solutions for damaged, worn, or broken parts.

  • Orders and installs replacement parts for machines.

  • Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines and fills out the appropriate documentation.

  • Prepares reports documenting work performed and improvements to avoid future incidences.

  • Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.

  • Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines, utilizing the maintenance database system.

  • Collaborates with product manager or plant engineer regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.

  • Makes necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Willingness to learn and grow professionally, shown by dedication, flexibility, and respect.

  • Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.

  • Basic electrical knowledge.

  • Works well independently and with others.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Organized with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment, handling many projects simultaneously.

  • Occasional overtime work

Education and Experience:

  • Vocational Certificates or Associates Degree or equivalent experience in related Maintenance field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.

  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.

  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Safety

  • Proper use of required PPE

  • Safety shoes required at all times

  • Special attention to noise levels, hearing protection required in specific areas or operations

  • High level of alertness at all times

Work Hours:

Mon-Thurs 2:00 p.m-12:00 a.m.
