DESCRIPTION
Meditech Expanse a robust patient scheduling and registration tool. We are seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Patient Services Representative to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing appointment scheduling, patient registration, insurance verification, and billing inquiries. This role is critical to ensuring a seamless and positive patient experience.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. Patient Appointment Scheduling:
Book, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments.
Provide accurate and up-to-date information about available appointment slots.
2. Patient Registration:
Collect and update patient demographic information.
Verify insurance information and coverage.
Process pre-registration forms and documentation.
3. Insurance Verification and Authorization:
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for patients.
Handle insurance-related inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
4. Patient Pre-Arrival Services:
Provide pre-visit instructions and necessary information.
Coordinate pre-visit screenings and tests.
Confirm patient readiness for appointments.
5. Referral and Specialist Scheduling:
Schedule appointments with specialists based on referrals.
Coordinate referral documentation and ensure clear communication with patients and providers.
6. Billing and Payment Support:
Provide clear and concise information on billing and payment policies.
Assist patients with payment plans and financial assistance applications.
Address billing inquiries and resolve disputes in a timely manner.
7. Customer Service and Patient Inquiries:
Respond to general inquiries about hospital services.
Provide information on hospital policies and procedures.
Address patient complaints and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
8. Data Entry and Record Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Ensure data integrity and handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Required Skills:
2 Years of Meditech experience
2 Years of Patient Access experience
Outgoing, energetic, self-motivated
Good listening skills
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Excellent problem solving and strong computer skills to include MS Office, Teams, and ticket documentation. troubleshooting basic computer issues and critical thinking capabilities
Ability to work independently but stay engaged with the virtual team throughout the workday via Microsoft Teams.
Punctual and reliable
Minimum typing skills of 45 WPM
Ability to work non-standard shifts such as 2 nd and 3 rd shift, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Skills:
2 Years Call Center experience
Strong computer skills to include MS Office, Teams, and troubleshooting basic computer issues
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
Remote Work Environment & Demands:
High Speed Internet Connection with hard wire capability is required
Quiet and private work environment during scheduled work hours
Back-up phone source (land line or cell phone)
Ability to utilize personal device such as cell phone for secure token authentication
Ability to attend online web meetings as needed
