Summary

• The Collections Manager is responsible for the collections process, setting and monitoring collections goals, and reducing bad debt expense and days sales outstanding.

• The Collections Manager reports to the Chief Financial Officer, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations in collections activities.

• The ideal candidate has experience in collections, has excellent communication and negotiation skills, and has strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  Responsibilities

• Develop and execute collections plans and strategies to meet targets for bad debt expense reduction and days sales outstanding improvement.

• Monitor and report on collections metrics and trends, identify and resolve issues, and implement corrective actions.

• Maintain positive and professional relationships with customers, internal stakeholders, and external agencies.

• Escalate complex or high-risk accounts to senior management and legal counsel as needed.

• Produce a weekly report of the top ten past due account balances and the actions taken to collect them.

• Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external legal on collection matters, ensuring timely and effective communication and coordination.

• Gather and summarize detailed invoice-level information on outstanding balances for submission to collection agencies and legal counsel

• Contact customers with past due balances, using various methods to secure payment and resolve disputes.

  Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field or 10 years of relevant work experence.

• Minimum of two years of experience in collections.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and collections software.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Customer service-oriented, with a positive and professional attitude.
