How You’ll Make an Impact

The objectives of this position are to grow Valvoline's business by managing and servicing key retail accounts in the Emerging Channels business. Delivering growth of the Valvoline family of products. This position manages assigned accounts by developing and executing a selling platform leveraging marketing programs, promotions and products that deliver growth for VGO. Relationship building with these accounts at the buyer / merchant level is critical to the success of this role. This includes customer site visits, and various face to face interactions at domestic locations throughout the United States.

  • Developing, calling on, and servicing key strategic accounts for the Valvoline Global family of products.

  • Work with Valvoline management at the Director level to develop annual account plans. Review sales, volume/share, and profit on at least a monthly basis to monitor progress and toward P&L metrics to deliver volume, sales and profit objectives.

  • Participate in the development, execution, and evaluation of channel &/or account specific marketing promotions. Communicate and coordinate sales activities with Director of Strategic Accounts to maximize sales and promotional potential across all accounts as necessary.

  • Participate in development and implementation of retail & wholesale sales strategies to attain growth targets outlined in the Valvoline Strategic Plan. Work closely with Trade Marketing, Brand Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, etc. to develop strategic and effective selling platforms including price, trade programs, promotions, shipping programs, and marketing support.

  • Utilize dedicated account customer service group to best service and manage day to day fulfillment of goods. Face to face meetings/travel to customer locations and other venues is required to be successful at the above objectives.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion

What You’ll Need

  • BS or BA Degree Required.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an account management/sales environment.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Relevant industry/consumer goods / retail / promotions experience and analytical strength using Microsoft Excel is preferred.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
