University of Virginia Nursing Professional Governance Clinical Leader in Charlottesville, Virginia

Nursing Professional Governance Clinical Leaders lead, facilitate and support organization level programs/committees and projects integral to nursing strategic objectives. Reports through the Director of Nursing Professional Practice. This position will include a strong emphasis on nursing nursing practice/regulatory focus and support.

  • Coordinates multiple projects and work streams to achieve objectives in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate closely with senior nursing and organizational leaders and health system colleagues to assure ongoing progress of organizational projects, goals and objectives.

  • Monitor and analyze program and project specific metrics, data, and outcomes communicating to stakeholders periodically and as needed.

  • Provides guidance and support to staff and/or management on complex problems or challenges.

  • Lead and participate in nursing and organizational governance structures to support program and project specific initiatives.

  • Inter-professional and cross-department facilitation and communication is utilized to ensure coordination and progression of programmatic and organizational goals. Specific and frequent collaborations include Human Resources, Nursing Professional Development Services, Other Clinical Disciplines and ancillary services, and Support Services.

  • Contributes to the review and revision of Medical Center policies, and resources.

  • Responsible for large audience verbal and written communications adhering to UVA Health branding standards and collaborating with Marketing and Communications as needed for strategic communication support.

  • Participate in evaluation of nursing survey data (engagement, culture of safety, etc.) to assess impact to nursing specific programs and strategic nursing objectives.

  • Engage in budget planning and expenditures related to specific programs and projects including tracking and return on investment analysis.

  • Maintains knowledge of program or project specific evidence based best practices.

  • Contributes to Magnet evidence collection /generation, document development and organizational preparation.

  • Demonstrates understanding of program and project alignment with nursing strategic plan and UVA Nursing Professional Practice Model.

  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $86,049.60 - $137,675.20 Annual

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: BSN required MSN or related health care master’s degree preferred or expected to complete appropriate healthcare Master’s Degree program within 3 years of hire into role.

Experience: Five years of progressive nursing leadership experience which includes clinical nursing background.

Licensure: Must be a registered nurse and currently licensed to practice in the State of Virginia. Relevant specialty or leadership board certification strongly preferred within 3 years of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
