Job Description Manufacturing Engineer Drafter Job Description At TEL Safety, Quality and Compliance are our Top Priority. It is our pride. We are looking for a talented manufacturing drafter to support, improve and document manufacturing processes. The manufacturing drafter's responsibilities include identifying and continuously improving the manufacturing documentation and processes, soliciting observations from operators and documenting new products, fixtures, tooling and assemblies. We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineering Drafter to join our team in Chaska, Minnesota. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in families with SolidWorks and/or Creo, proficiency in 3D modeling, and the ability to generate model-based work instructions. Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities: Member of a small cross functional engineering team (mechanical/electrical/software) working to develop new products, improve existing products, and customize products to meet customer demands. Evaluating existing and new manufacturing processes to identifying areas for improvement. Problem solving efforts and coordination of corrective actions with other departments and implementing solutions. Managing design documentation release on assigned projects. Developing and updating detailed layouts for equipment, process flow. Developing and implementing cost-saving measures and quality control systems. Ensuring manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations. Qualifications: AA or BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred. 1+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred. Knowledgeable in lean principles. Experience using CAD (Creo and/or SolidWorks), SAP S4HANA, Teamcenter, CAM, data analysis programs, and related software. Experience creating work instructions, 3D model based a plus. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Understanding of formal problem solving principle. Strong organization and management skills. Strong analytical thinker. Ability to work in a Class I semiconductor clean room. Ability to occasionally travel, including internationally. Physical Requirements: Job duties are performed in an office setting or in a clean room environment. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds is required. May require bending/stooping/crawling/climbing. May require the use of Personal Protection Equipment and proper industry safety procedures when working with one or more dangerous element or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, etc. Occasional overnight travel to TEL factory, training facilities and customer locations may be required.
