Description:

Clerical Technical Support for Imaging Departments

Computer experience required preferably in a healthcare environment.

Position Summary: The Tech Assistant provides clerical assistance to clinical staff and radiologists and is responsible for a variety of image management activities related to the Diagnostic Imaging Department. Confidentiality is of utmost importance at all times.

Qualifications: Minimum high school graduate education. Computer experience required preferably in a healthcare environment. Must be very conscientious and detail oriented person with excellent communication skills and demonstrate service excellence skills. BLS/CPR required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships. Approaches conflict in a constructive manner. Helps to identify problems, offer solutions, and participates in their resolution.

Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patient, physicians, employees, and visitors to St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea/Saint Joseph Mercy Health System. Discusses patient and hospital information only among appropriate personnel in appropriately private places.

Maintains knowledge to perform the duties of the job. Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner, to assure personal safety and that of coworkers, and to report all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately to management.

Review daily list of scheduled patients and retrieves prior studies not on PACS Burn CD’s and/or printing film as required according to department standards. Establishing, organizing and maintaining daily routine and confidential record keeping system/files. Assist in processing daily add-on patients Assist with transporting patients for MRI, Pain Clinic and Needle Localization procedures Review/troubleshoot daily list of orders without reports Carry Tech Assistant wireless phone and provide assistance/coordination as needed based on calls received Ability to multi-task in a very busy environment

Attends required computer classes related to daily job.

Treats all patients, families, co-workers and visitors in a caring and respectful manner, being mindful of individual differences, and cultural and ethnic diversity.
