Position Purpose

We are looking for a facilities operations professional who is passionate about driving a safe and compliant culture, delivering the best infrastructure, driving continuous improvement and innovation, demonstrating great teamwork, and dedicated to ensuring the best employee experience.

In this role, we will look to you for operational delivery of Integrated Facility Management (IFM) and self-performed facility services, across two sites located in Chester and Moreton.

Your responsibilities will include providing leadership and oversight for outsourced GxP activities, management of hard (M&E) and soft services, asset lifecycle management and reliability excellence of infrastructure, asset and equipment management utilizing the Maximo system, combined with efficient, effective, and safe ways of working.

Your results will be achieved by working with the wider IFM team.

This role is office based, covering two sites; Chester and Moreton .

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety and Compliance : Drive a safe and compliant culture within the facilities operations, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices.

  • Infrastructure Management : Oversee the operational delivery of Integrated Facility Management (IFM) and self-performed facility services, including hard (M&E) and soft services, asset lifecycle management, and reliability excellence of infrastructure.

  • Quality Oversight : Provide quality oversight for outsourced GxP activities, perform regular reviews of outsourced IFM Quality programs and metrics, and represent Facilities in Quality audits, investigations, and CAPA development.

  • Maximo System and Asset Management : Own the Maximo maintenance system and ensure efficient asset and equipment management, including criticality and reliability excellence processes.

  • Financial Management : Manage operating financial budgets and projections for facilities operations.

  • Contractor Management and SOPs : Champion safe ways of working through control of contractors, permitting, and authoring facilities-related standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Commissioning and Turnover : Assure commissioning and turnover of capital projects to meet facilities and employee requirements.

  • Site Audits and Stakeholder Management : Perform regular site audits related to the physical environment, assets, and equipment. Maintain frequent contact with key stakeholders across the sites and wider business functions.

  • Emergency Response and Business Continuity : Own and manage site shutdowns, site emergency response, and facilities business continuity planning (BCP).

  • Problem-Solving and Root Cause Analysis : Deliver outcomes in dynamic or complex circumstances, utilizing problem-solving skills such as root cause analysis.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in facilities management, or equally relevant reliability or engineering degree.

  • Membership of a professional institution or management qualification (e.g. IWFM)

  • A full UK driving licence for frequent travel between the two sites.

Required Knowledge

  • Excellent technical understanding of GxP requirements as they relate to Product Development (PD), Facilities, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality.

  • Broad technical knowledge of facility operations (hard and soft services), infrastructure, and equipment.

Required Experience

  • Extensive demonstrated experience in a GxP environment and managing a technical function overseeing daily operations supporting Maintenance, Manufacturing, Engineering or PD related functions.

  • Ability to represent Facilities and Global Engineering during regulatory audits and effectively interact with Legal, Quality Assurance, Corporate Quality and Regulatory in responding to any internal or external audit observations.

  • Effective leadership skills to be part of a high-performing team.

  • High level of interpersonal, communication and presentational skills.

  • Ability to comprehend, analyse, and interpret complex business documents and to author reports, manuals, presentations, and standard operating procedures.
