What You’ll Do

As a Maintenance Technician Trainee, you’ll be part of our team located in Chesterfield, MI. You’ll get to:

• Learn to perform preventative maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment and building and grounds per pre-established schedules.

• Learn how to perform a variety of building and grounds, machinery and equipment repairs, installation, or modification.

• Learn and obtain materials and supplies from local distributors, warehouses, or merchants.

• Learn how to clean equipment, machinery, and building.

• Keep records of work performed and related maintenance records.

• Perform other miscellaneous utility jobs as assigned by the supervisor.

• Learn how to order routine maintenance supplies.

Education Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.

• Technical school certificate and/or training preferred but not required.

Experience Required:

• Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations.

• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure. Perform the four operations with the common and decimal fractions.

• Ability to read and write to follow quality and related instructions.

• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when diagnosing, inspecting, and checking accuracy of repairs.

• Ability to become authorized in Lockout/Tag out within probationary period.
