We are in the process of hiring an Accounting Manager in the Marketing/PR industry, based in Chicago, Illinois. This role is vital for managing and overseeing daily operations of the accounting department, producing financial reports, implementing controls, systems, and procedures, and ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulations. This role offers a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including month-end and year-end processes, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, and so on

• Monitor and analyze accounting data, produce financial reports or statements accordingly

• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles

• Ensure all financial accounting objectives are met in a timely manner

• Implement and maintain department controls, systems, and procedures

• Ensure accurate and timely production of all financial information

• Act as a liaison with internal and external auditors, address any financial irregularities as they arise

• Provide advice on financial matters impacting the company

• Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations

• Develop long-term business plans based on these reports

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP Solutions, Great Plains (GPAC), Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, and Billing Functions.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Knowledge of ERP Solutions

• Proficiency in Great Plains (GPAC)

• Ability to manage Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proven track record in Auditing

• Proficiency in Billing Functions

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding business operations and taxation

• CPA certification is a plus but not required.
