Job Description

Position OverviewAs a Director of Construction, Renewable Project Management, you will lead building and training Invenergy’s on-site construction management teams to ensure consistent execution of project construction activities, including adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and scope compliance, by implementing standards, processes and training of CM teams across Invenergy's project portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and mentor construction management staff, providing coaching and training to enhance skills and capabilities to promote consistent execution of Invenergy's portfolio of wind, solar and storage projects.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to construction management staff in accordance with Invenergy's goals for safety, quality and contract compliance while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

  • Serve as a liaison between project managers, construction management teams and senior management, providing regular updates on key issues.

  • Support development and implementation of construction management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent delivery of projects on time and within budget with high levels of safety and quality.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and project management to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

  • ​In coordination with Invenergy's Project Managers, ensure that site construction activities adhere to established construction standards and industry best practices for safety, quality and scope.

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, or similar degree.

  • 7+ years of progressive construction project management experience

  • 5+ years construction field experience managing contractors and suppliers.

  • Thorough understanding and implementation of projects in accordance with construction contracts and major equipment supply agreements.

  • Excellent solution-seeking, teamwork, leadership and communication skills which extend across all organizational and management levels.

  • Demonstrated ability in leadership of multi-disciplined teams of engineers and outside consultants.

  • Able to travel up to 3 weeks per month to various project sites in the U.S.

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in power industry, renewable energy industry experience

  • Wind and solar farm construction a plus

  • Bilingual (Spanish)
