Overview

Walsh is currently seeking a Receptionist for our Corporate Office in Chicago, IL.

The Receptionist for a construction office provides customer service and support to the team, as well as customers, guests, vendors and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

  • Greets guests and employees upon entrance into the building. If a secure building, may need to view visitors and work areas on Card Access Security Camera system. Checks and signs forany deliveries Fed Ex, Office Max etc.

  • Receives visitors at front desk and directs them to the appropriate location and/or employee. Follows security protocol by ensuring visitors sign in and receive a Visitor ID Card which may include a guest parking pass. Ensures notification of Walsh Employee and directs visitor to the appropriate location. Calls taxis as requested by an employee or guest.

  • Answers calls using telecommunication systems and determines how to assist the caller. Updates the necessary database/system with all employee changes as needed.

  • Receives all building 911 calls and determines the validity of call. Coordinates medical assistance with the Safety Representatives and outside medical personnel, if needed.

  • Depending on location, reserves rooms, orders food, and ensures room is returned to its original state. Calls Contact person to receive food deliveries, supplies etc.

  • Handles announcements for the building with regards to mail delivery and reminders for package deadline pick-up.

  • Assists the Mailroom or the Delivery area with the receipt and delivery of packages to the appropriate employee. Acts as an authorized driver for transportation needs etc. if the runner/mailroom clerk is not available.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 1 year of experience in an office setting

  • Proficient with MS Office Programs

  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Experience with filing systems

  • Experience with data entry

  • Self-motivated

  • This position is 100% onsite 5 days per week
