Job Summary

The Senior Associate Director of Communications will play a leading role in creating, executing, and evaluating the Roman Family CDR\'s strategic communications plan. The Senior Associate Director of Communications will develop strategy and content for the Center\'s digital and print publications and channels-including but not limited to web assets, marketing campaigns, direct mail, print production, internal communications, and community engagement. The Senior Associate Director of Communications will write for a broad range of audiences and help lead and manage initiatives that engage the growing audience for the Roman Family CDR.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the director of operations and external relations, creates, executes, and evaluates the strategic communications plan for the Roman Family Center for Decision Research.
  • Articulates and delivers the Center\'s core messages, priorities, and achievements in a style and medium best aligned with its myriad audiences, academics, industry, alumni, journalists, and the general public.
  • Helps tell the story of behavioral science to a broad audience, how the discipline creates positive, meaningful change at scale; expands the scientific understanding of human behavior; and helps people better understand and improve their lives.
  • Manages and optimizes the Center\'s multiple digital properties, including the websites for the RF-CDR and Mindworks, affiliated social media channels, and direct email campaigns.
  • Works closely with the RF-CDR\'s lab teams to explain the importance and appeal of participating in behavioral science research, employing a range of tactics, including full-service direct email, social media, flyers, and other advertising avenues.
  • Leads and executes marketing for the Center\'s flagship public lecture series, Think Better.
  • Serves as managing director of the publications that demonstrate the Center\'s thought leadership and impact on the field, providing editorial vision and planning, and overseeing their production, delivery, and dissemination.
  • Helps conceive and manage paid advertising campaigns across a broad range of media.
  • Oversees the work of external vendors, including printers and manufacturers.
  • Helps manage and evaluate internal communications for the Center\'s community of faculty, full-time staff, graduate students, postdocs, undergraduates, and research assistants.
  • Acts as a strategist or project lead to plan, develop and disseminate information designed to keep the public informed of the organization\'s programs, accomplishments, or point of view.
  • Solves complex and unique problems related to the writing, preparation, and/or delivery of information from or about the unit.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
