    The Structural Team at AR is engaged in structural design work with many of the major infrastructure clients in the Chicago area and we are looking to focus some of the firm’s growth trajectory on the team.

    Description

    As a Senior Structural Bridge Engineer, you will be expected to serve in a variety of roles and perform numerous tasks including Project Manager, perform calculations and analysis and aid in the production of design drawings.  You will work collaboratively with our Transportation Group on various types of projects involving bridge design, retaining walls, culverts and drainage structures. Additional duties include:

  • Oversee and mentor Junior Engineers

  • Review and produce structural calculations and drawings

  • Provide input on RFP’s and potential pursuits

  • Serve as a technical expert on structural matters

  • Perform bridge inspections and prepare necessary reports

  • Lead project meetings both internally and with clients

  • Other duties as necessary

    Requirements

  • BSCE degree with structural emphasis, MSCE preferred

  • 8-12 years of experience in bridge design

  • Structural Engineer (SE) License is strongly preferred

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required

  • Familiarity with IDOT, Tollway and Local Agencies

  • Rail experience a plus

  • Proficiency with structural analysis software

  • Working knowledge of Microstation and Autocad

  • Experience leading tasks and design teams

  • Excellent written and verbal skills
