ABOUT THE ROLE

The SPG US Applications Manager is responsible for managing and supporting our Enterprise SPG business applications. This includes supporting the current transformation effort consolidating our SPG business to an Enterprise end to end solution, utilizing AIM and Imageright as the CORE Broker Management and Document Management platforms. Additionally, this individual is responsible for planning and implementing software best practices, as well as ongoing support and maintenance.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders in our Enterprise SPG team to understand their requirements.

  • Design, implement and maintain application configuration and enhancements that support business operations.

  • Partner with the Product Owner to plan product updates, test scripts requirements, and facilitate proper user testing of changes for production release.

  • Partner with product vendors to understand product roadmaps, releases and participate in product enhancement efforts where appropriate.

  • Ensure technology team standard operating procedures meet Corporate Enterprise Application, Compliance, and Security standards and principles.

Support and Operations Management

  • Develop comprehensive documentation to support effective service desk support of the applications.

  • Manage, analyze, and improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability of core services.

  • Identify areas of functional overlap and provide recommendations on opportunities for application consolidation across multiple software products.

  • Ability to clearly articulate and communicate technical requirements and issues to non-technical business staff.

  • Experience in effectively communicating to business and technology teams and influencing key stakeholders across the organization.

  • Management of individual contributor performance and professional development as team grows.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related field strongly preferred. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an equivalent amount of relevant technology or insurance work experience will be considered.

  • 3+ years’ experience managing a broker management system required. Experience with AIM and Imageright preferred.

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, particularly in Specialty, Wholesale and MGA markets, emerging trends, and related technology, business processes and requirements is required.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to collaborate and explain technical concepts and technologies to senior leaders, cross functional teams and external stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

  • Willingness to grow and share knowledge with others on the team.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects from inception to delivery.

This position reports into Chicago and can be based anywhere in the U.S and Canada.

Disclosure required under applicable municipal regulations in NY and NJ, as well as the law in Colorado: The expected salary range for this position is $100K to $120K and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
