Sr. Actuarial Associate Director - Mortgage Analytics

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to split your time working virtually and from our office in the Aon Center in downtown Chicago.

What the day will look like

This role is for a hands-on individual with a strong analytics background, ideally in insurance, finance, or consulting. The individual will work in Aon’s reinsurance mortgage analytics team to deliver value added reinsurance solutions to our clients. Your work will support mortgage credit risk transfer (CRT) reinsurance deal placements and other client projects working closely with other Aon colleagues. You will also perform market research and industry studies.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Analytics background from insurance or finance fields; Consulting, economic capital modeling, catastrophe modeling, or reinsurance experience preferred but not required

  • Experience in R, Python, SQL, or similar programming languages; Proficient in MS Office suite, particularly Excel/VBA and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work independently and in a team, acting as a peer and a project manager

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) when presenting analyses to internal and external stakeholders

  • 5+ actuarial exams passed (near or recent ACAS and planning to pursue fellowship), or CFA, advanced degree in a related field, etc.

    Education: Minimum requirement is Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, Math, Computer Science, or other related degrees.

    Pay Transparency Laws:

    The salary range for this position intended for U.S. applicants is $110k-160k annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of State/Region. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

    This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive [an annual discretionary bonus] in addition to base salary. The amount of any [bonus] varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
