A Drafting/CAD Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Christiansburg, VA area. This role involves utilizing computer-aided design systems to prepare drawings and schematics for mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems, while also demonstrating problem-solving skills, coordination abilities, and compliance with deadlines and confidentiality.

salary: $21.40 - 33.35 per hour

work hours: 8am to 4pm

education: Associates

responsibilities:

• Utilizes integrated systems for computer-aided design to represent mechanical and architectural structures systematically.

• Prepares drawings or schematics for mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems, equipment, and structures.

• Utilizes CAD digitizing techniques and skills.

• Digitizes and edits integrated circuit drawings, including components and assemblies.

• Performs engineering computations and prepares and revises specifications.

• Possesses considerable technical and content knowledge of the job.

• Understands practical applications and can solve complex problems.

• Mastery of regular situations encountered in the role.

Skills: SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience preferred, but other equivalent CAD software experience may be considered.

Education and Experience:

• AAS (Associate of Applied Science) degree required.

• HS Diploma with experience.

• 3+ years in a related field.
